Week 4: Let It Be

Open Your Heart to the Mystery of God

Do all the trappings of Christmas leave you wanting? Have you longed to experience the season of Advent on a deeper level or maybe, simply understand what this beautiful, yet mysterious tradition is all about? Perhaps, you are like me and so many others during the holidays, expecting, seeking, and waiting for Jesus to come. You are the person we want in our book club. Beginning November 27, join us for a 4-week Advent experience as we read Come, Lord Jesus: The Weight of Waiting by Kris Camealy.

I read this beautiful book by the lake a few weeks ago, and Kris’ words highlighted spiritual truths that broke me wide open. God speaks to us creatively and intimately when we ask him to come, especially in the midst of burdensome, messy lives. I absolutely believe he will take up residence in the heart-empty spaces for all of us this season too when we say, “Come, Lord Jesus,” together.

What to Expect

The book features 25 daily Advent readings to read throughout the season. Each Sunday from Nov. 27 to Dec. 18, we’ll feature a blog post with art, poetry, and story to inspire your reading and guided discussion here on the blog.

We will feature an interview with Kris and a book giveaway of Come Lord, Jesus and her book Holey, Wholly, Holy: A Lenten Journey of Refinement.

Read the book introduction and what people are saying about it on Kris’ blog.
